
Sean Cooke
General Manager, Avalon Landscapes
Sean Cooke is a 30 year veteran of the green industry, specifically in commercial maintenance and construction. A majority of his tenure was in the Denver Colorado area where he built his career and dedicated many years to educating his peers and the general public. During his tenure in Colorado, he has been a part of building and growing in multiple golf courses, sports stadiums and has managed many of the premier communities and commercial sites on the south side of Denver.
Outside of his day-to-day work, Sean has served on the board of directors of many trade associations over the years. He served on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Arborist and Lawn Care Association for 13 years, serving as president twice; also on the Colorado Turf Grass Foundation board for 12 years, serving as president twice as well as the Rocky Mountain Turf Grass Association, Greenco Foundation and the ALCC political committee. Sean was also an instructor at Front Range Community College for 2 semesters teaching TurfGrass Management.
Other industry related activities include co-hosting on a local gardening radio show, representing the industry on Capitol Hill for 8 years. He has earned ISA Certified Arborist accreditation as well as being one of the first QWEL Certified landscapers in the Denver Market .
He has a long-standing passion for the green industry and last June, made the jump with his wife and 2 daughters to Meridian, Idaho where he has taken over Avalon Landscapes as their General Manager.
